Silhouette Soft® is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment to redefine facial contours with immediate results. Silhouette Soft® uses a double action effect to restore smoother and more toned skin, but also a more shapely face. To meet this requirement, Silhouette Soft® combines two effects: an immediate repositioning of the tissue and a gradual increase of collagen.
During the procedure, the repositioning effect is immediate and discreet. It is the result of tissue compression and skin elevation at the time of implanting the suture. After insertion of the suture, slight pressure is applied to the treated area. In this way, the contours of your face are reshaped, making it visibly smoother.
The effect is gradual: Poly L-lactic acid (PLLA), the principal component of Silhouette Soft® is a well-known polymer that has been used for many years in a number of biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. The small cones on the Silhouette Soft® Suture provide traction and fixation points, a natural foreign body reaction then reinforces this, by the build-up of new collagen formation. This action is what helps restore shapeliness to the face and neck.

How long does Silhouette Soft® last?
Long-term effects come from the body’s foreign body reaction, which stimulates collagen synthesis from the activation of the fibroblasts present in the skin. This stimulation occurs in the tissue area surrounding the suture and cones. Collagen production is naturally reduced with ageing and therefore this ‘re-stimulation’ is pivotal to providing long-term improvement of the face and neck contours.

Are there any side effects?
Silhouette Soft® can cause a minimal inflammatory reaction, due to the insertion of a foreign body into the skin. This is a well-known reaction and common to all minimally invasive aesthetic treatments. In some cases, patients can experience minor pain, as well swelling and bruising can also occur.
